En acto efectuado en la sala teatro del Museo Nacional de
Bellas Artes, edificio de Arte Cubano, y con la presencia de Eusebio Leal, Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana, se hicieron menciones en la categoría Conservación a La Casa de Cultura Comunal-Sala de Historia, de Palmira, (Cienfuegos) y restaurante El Colonial, de Remedios,

La casa Coltrane y el Hospital de Chicago están en peligro según el National Trust for Historic Preservation de EE.UU.
La casa natal del músico de jazz John Coltrane, el edificio en forma de trébol del Hospital de Chicago y una factoría de Pillsbury en Minneapolis que en su momento fue una de los más avanzados molinos de harina están entre los 11 lugares históricos más amenazados.
El
Fundación Nacional para Conservación Histórica el miércoles realizó además un gesto extraordinario al colocar la ciudad entera – Charleston, S.C. – bajo vigilancia. El grupo dice que ampliar el turismo de cruceros puede dañar el carácter histórico de la ciudad.
Lugares
específicos en Alabama, California, Minnesota, Nuevo México, Dakota del Sur, Virginia y Wisconsin han realizado también la lista incluyendo un barrio chino histórico llamado China Alley en el Valle de San Joaquín en California que se creó con inmigrantes que llegaron en 1877. No
hay funcionarios para preservar y reforzar las leyes que protegen tales emplazamientos de acuerdo con la Fundación nacional

Laboratorio de Empleos Culturales - LECU - Instituto Andaluz del Patrimonio Histórico - Sevilla (España)
El Instituto Andaluz del Patrimonio Histórico, entidad científica de la Consejería de Cultura, celebra del 10 al 11 de junio el primer taller del Laboratorio de Empleos Culturales LECU. Con este proyecto, se trata de potenciar las posibilidades del patrimonio cultural para crear empleo y
desarrollar nuevas profesiones y oportunidades laborales, así como mejorar las condiciones de empleabilidad de los profesionales vinculados al ámbito del patrimonio cultural.
La iniciativa considera que el patrimonio cultural es hoy un recurso indispensable para el desarrollo

Asif Khan to Design Future Memory Pavilion - Singapore - Republic of Singapore
The British Council, in partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts, London and the Preservation of Monuments Board, Singapore, today announced a programme of events entitled Future Memory in Singapore. The programme will culminate with a temporary pavilion designed
by award-winning UK architect Asif Khan as part of Singapore’s annual architecture festival ArchiFest in October 2011.

The theme of Future Memory, which forms the basis for a platform of activities in Singapore, derives from a
series of discussion-based events (RA Forums) created by the Royal Academy of Arts in early 2011 in London.

Maine House in Andrew Wyeth's "Christina's World" Now a US Landmark - Cushing - Maine - USA
A weather-beaten farmhouse in Maine, featured in the backdrop of one of the most famous paintings from the 20th Century, is now a national landmark.
The Olson House in Cushing where Andrew Wyeth painted "Christina's World" was one of 14 landmarks to receive
the designation from U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar on Thursday.
"It's now affirmation that it's an American icon," said Christropher Brownawell, executive director of the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, which has owned the farmhouse for the past 20
years.

El Fondo Nacional para la preservación del patrimonio histórico desveló hoy la lista 2011 de los lugares históricos de América más amenazados, una lista anual que destaca los ejemplos más importantes del patrimonio arquitectónico, cultural y natural en peligro de ser destruidos o
de sufrir un daño irreparable. Los miembros del público pueden mostrar su apoyo para salvar los lugares amenazados enviando un mensaje con la palabra “LUGARES” al 25383 para donar 10 dólares, los cuales se destinarán directamente a salvaguardar los lugares históricos
mediante los programas de ayuda del Fondo Nacional.

2011, i conti in rosso dei teatri italiani, le occupazioni pacifiche dei lavoratori dello spettacolo, gli scioperi della fame e le trasformazioni di cinema in spazi ospitanti più redditizie slot machines, trovare tra i capitoli del documento finanziario che il MiBAC non sarà interessato dai tagli
orizzontali apportati dal Governo per pareggiare il Bilancio, è senza dubbio una sorpresa.

El Secretario de Interior, Ken Salazar, anunció hoy que en Cementerio de Woodlawn ha sido designado Hito Histórico Nacional – el más alto reconocimiento acordado a la propiedad más significativa históricamente de la nación.
Woodlawn, que celebrará su 150 aniversario a
comienzos del año próximo, es uno de los mejores ejemplos de cementerio-jardín del siglo XIX. Acoge la más distinguida colección de mausoleos históricos de la nación y es también cementerio en activo. El nombramiento reconoce su singular diseño paisajístico y su colección de
arte y arquitectura. También reconoce el importante papel de Woodlawn en la conmemoración y celebración de destacados americanos que conformaron la historia y la cultura americana.
Desde su fundación en 1863, 310.000 personas – desde magnates de la Edad Dorada
a pioneros de los derechos de la mujer, escritores y músicos del Renacimiento de Harlem, así como artistas, atletas y ciudadanos comunes – han sido enterradas en los 400 acres del cementerio.

 Premio del patrimonio cultural europeo - Edición 2011
El premio Unión Europea de Patrimonio Cultural 2011 supone el reconocimiento a los logros más destacados en materia de conservación e investigación histórica.
Devolver a una estación de tren su antiguo esplendor arquitectónico, formar a la siguiente generación de
conservadores de museos o rescatar un monasterio abandonado son ejemplos de la labor llevada a cabo por miles de voluntarios y profesionales para mantener viva la historia de Europa.
Este grupo de personas se ocupa de restaurar y conservar edificios, estructuras,
fortificaciones y objetos que constituyen nuestro patrimonio cultural.
La UE reconoce la importancia de su labor con los premios anuales al patrimonio cultural, también conocidos como los premios Europa Nostra. De los 27 proyectos galardonados —cuatro españoles—, seis
recibirán también premios especiales que los catalogan como los logros más sobresalientes de este años en relación con el patrimonio, además de 10.000 euros cada uno.

El nuevo indicador de UNESCO Cultura para el desarrollo de Bosnia y Herzegovina fue presentado de forma oficial el 5 de julio de 2011 como el único documento que reconoce la importancia y contribución de la cultura en el desarrollo de Bosnia y Herzegovina. Según la
investigación, la contribución a las actividades culturales de GDP de B-H en 2009 fue de 6,7% o 1,6 billones BAM. El gasto en cultura a todos los niveles del gobierno en B-H en 2009 fue de 123.4 millones BAM o 36 BAM per cápita. “La investigación de la UNESCO demuestra que la
cultura en B-H contribuye al desarrollo, crea nuevos empleos, y genera ingresos, así pues siendo no sólo un gasto como se suele hacer creer. Además de su significado desde el punto de vista cultural, las industrias culturales y creativas poseen un significado económico de gran
importancia, reflejado en contribución al empleo y a la generación de nuevos valores. Este documento ofrecerá elementos que harán posible la creación de políticas culturales y estrategias”, afirmó Sredoje Novic, Ministro de Asuntos Civiles de Bosnia y Herzegovina.

Volunteers of the Government Hill Concern Group offer tours so that everyone can see, and learn more about their "Government Hill".
In
2012 the Hong Kong Government is moving half of the Central Government Office functions from Government Hill to the harbourfront Tamar site.
This creates an opportunity for the community to use half of the land - the so-called "West Wing" - for uses that benefit the
community.
Government, instead, has proposed selling half the site to a developer. This would destroy all the historical elements of the West Wing and half of Government Hill. There are many other options.
We promote a heritage-led Government Hill project to
conserve all historic buildings and tunnels, and create a community asset for the public enjoyment of our heritage and open space.

The "European Heritage Alliance 3.3" launched by Europa Nostra in Amsterdam - The Netherlands
The “European Heritage Alliance 3.3.” was recently launched by more than 25 European and International networks and organisations active in the wider field of cultural heritage on the occasion of the European Heritage Congress 2011 organised by Europa Nostra in Amsterdam.
Europa Nostra will be acting as the facilitator of this newly created alliance.
The name of this newly created Alliance refers to the article 3.3. of the consolidated version of the Lisbon Treaty of the European Union which stipulates that “[The Union] shall respect its rich cultural
and linguistic diversity, and shall ensure that Europe’s cultural heritage is safeguarded and enhanced.” The organisations and networks represented at the constitutive meeting of the Alliance intend to advocate together the necessity to develop a future EU strategy for cultural and
natural heritage, in compliance with article 3.3. of the Treaty, and will seek to develop stronger synergies between their respective activities with regard to European policy.
